Who is Eligible?
If you or your loved one has been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness, you may be eligible for hospice care. Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurances offer hospice care as a benefit.
To meet Medicare’s guidelines for care coverage, you must meet their requirements as defined by the Medicare Hospice Regulations, which include "a medical prognosis with a life expectancy of 6 months or less if the disease follows its normal course, as certified by a physician." If you are entitled to Medicare Part A and meet the above defined guidelines, you are eligible for benefits. Click here for more information on Medicare guidelines.
Hospice care benefits include the four levels of care: routine home care, hospice inpatient care, continuous care and respite care.
Even if you don’t have insurance, Hospice of Broward County makes hospice care available to you.
